Evie Green is the horror author who lives in my head. She has been busy over the past few years. Her debut novel, WE HEAR VOICES, is published by Berkley in the US.
It’s the story of a little boy who recovers after a global flu epidemic. His mother, Rachel, is delighted with Delfy, the imaginary friend who has appeared to help him get better. However, it turns out that the Delfy might not turn out to be such a blessing after all.
It has been an enormous amount of fun writing this, and the book went on a strange journey to publication before finding its perfect editor in the form of Jen Monroe at Berkley, in New York. Although it features a pandemic, it was written long before Covid-19 turned up, and the flu in the story is just the start of it all.
